the following is interesting, read it somewhere.. remember in whatever predicament - IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the centre of the bed. It was addressed,"Dad". With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:

Dear Dad,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Joan and she is so nice -- even with all her piercings, tattoos, and her tight Motorcycle clothes.
But it's not only the passion dad, she's pregnant and Joan said that we will be very happy. Even though you don't care for her as she is so much older than I, she already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.
She wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too. Joan taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and we'll be growing it for us and trading it with her friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Joan can get better; she sure deserves it!!
Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself.
Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

Your son,
John

PS: Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at the neighbour's house.

I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than my report card that's in my desk centre drawer. I love you! Call when it is safe for me to come home.

jas sent me this set of pics yesterday whilst at work. i had been busy with the incessant 'enquiries' and bogged down by tons of 'latest' emails... until i saw those pics hhaaa.

then.. in 2002..
we were merry-making at raffles city shopping centre promoting the latest OCBC-Robinsons credit card. doing the usual irritating stunt; intercepting shoppers and pushing the credit card RIGHT AT THEIR FACE! 'mdm, would you be interested in our latest credit card promo, free for the 1st yr.. blah..blah..' damn annoying.. haha =P ..........and suddenly, we spotted a big grp of ppl. by a closer look, we saw lydia sum and zhang yong quan, and the rest i believe were lydia's assistants. being thick-skinned, we walked up and requested a pic tgt. lydia was all smiles and obliged willingly. that was really nice of her, we thought. she looked pleasant. the impression she portrayed was always like a 'da jie' - cool, bold and aboveboard. she seemed unbeatable having weathered so many adversities all on her own. until one day, a 'thief' came silently to rob her health and snatch away her life.

these 2 taken in KL; totally no recollection of these pics.

im supposed to be in bangkok today but due to the once again rioting and stiking over there, i have to cancel it. changed the tix to KL in dec with lotsa massages and spas. didn't cancel my leave as i'm more than happy to be away from office and the 'senile, kia-see, stupid, jumpy' loser boss. mkt is bad, customers complained - these wouldn't drive me mad. his incessant jitters, naggings annoy me, TORMENT me! so much so when i sense his presence some 100m away, i get irritated. i can't look straight in his eyes for more than 5s, i'll start to feel sorry for my sight. he's so disoriented and nerve-wreaked that whenever i hv an issue, i hesitate to inform him. i don't want to manage him.

my corporate line rang twice early this morning at 9am. i thought is my client. i snapped and was fuming mad when i saw his name flashing on my hp. i didn't pick up. following is an sms - 'are u working on sat?' IS IT SO MUCH OF A REALLY IMPORTANT WORK ISSUE THAT U HAVE TO CALL EARLY IN THE MORNING ON MY LEAVE???

for every single matter happening in the br, he has to 'cc' his boss. even for simple stuff like leave taking. freaking 58 yrs of age mgr, can't even handle your own br matters! he's as gd as impotent.

(previous day 6pm) me: hi XX, tomorrow i have a medical apptm at 1130. I will be back asap.
(next day morning) XX: br starts at 0815. raffles hospital is only 3 MRT stops away.
(CC his boss! trying to sabo me isn't it?? coz he thought i was gg to hospital straight without gg to br)
(same morning saw it FUMING MAD) me: i understand and i m in the br now working. that email was merely to inform u at 1130am today, i will be away for a while.
(of coz i have to 'REPLY ALL')
next moment he appeared in front of me. 'hey sorry, sorry i thought u were gg to hospital straightaway w/o coming in.' i really, really shouted 'NO!! I DIDN'T MENTION ANYWHERE IN THE EMAIL THAT I WASN'T COMING IN RIGHT???'
then he 'ok, ok. come to my room'!!! talked to me nicely said he apologised and ending off with 'but actually your email was quite misleading'. WTF!!!

then i received an email right after, he 'REPLY ALL' - 'sorry. it was a misunderstanding. i apologise for the mistake'.

ISN'T THIS TAKING SHIT AND APPLYING ON YOUR FACE?????

being prideful, i 'confronted' my boss. i asked him NICELY if he did check on me. he said 'no'. well, word against word. so just let it rest then. i better remind myself not to let an insignificant person or a job affect my personal well-being. stress is the root of illness and disease. i better take care of myself. tomorrow, i'm gg to see a specialist to check out the bump behind my neck! hallelujah.

sarah is coming back from states next week. kinda excited. we'll be gg bangkok tgt with lynn and my sis. should we go? the ppl there are gg on stikes. only phuket tix can be refunded. hopefully it's business as usual for most of the thais with a handful of radicals; at least still manageable for the military over there. otherwise it'll be quite dangerous. haha. i'm imagining it to be like 'hotel rwanda'. think too much lah.

my big nephew is so cute. for 1 mth i didn't see him, he has already learnt to read simple eng sentences and read to me a complete story book! im so impressed. alright, i think he memorised for most words but 'WOW'! gd enough. this time around, he can correctly identify colours, numbers, animals, shapes..blah blah. WOW! WOW! WOW!

i think my small nephew is more cheeky. he's an attention-seeker; we cannot be out of his sight - at any point in time he needs to see a person in front of him! he sure knows how to get his way - his biggest weapon -- shrieking loud cry! WL! can be angry and irritated with him but whenever he smilies, that's it! we wave the white flag!

i love them both!!
