Ferris Wheel...

I find ferris wheel an iconic structure of romance. It is an association I find hard to explain. Ferris wheel is meant for people in love and not to hold meetings or parties. Whenever I pass by our one and only magnificent ferris wheel, I will just look at it till it's out of my sight especially at night. The lightings are just beautiful.

The first ferris wheel was designed by George W. Ferris, a bridge-builder from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He built the Ferris Wheel for the 1893 World's Fair, which was held in Chicago to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus's landing in America. He had an inspiration and scribbled the design for the Ferris Wheel on a napkin during a dinner.

So far I have only sat in one which is in Taiwan at Miramar Shopping Centre. I told myself I definitely have to try that coz it was also featured in 'Huan Huan Ai' =) Just that the feel is quite different coz I was with a big grp - I've said ferris wheel is meant for romance. This is the only 'Yi Han' haha. Anyway I still have many more opportunities I hope, like The London Eye - it used to be the biggest ferris wheel until S'pore and China surpassed it.

Side track a bit.. Cat has just done up my DS Lite. I have many new wallpapers to choose from and new games to play now. It's really getting more and more fun. I must say this ger is gd! I think wait till I get a card reader, I can start customising and adding more stuff again!

Just watched Lydia Sum TV tribute on Ch 53. Rather touching with many gd friends sending their condolences. The classic part came when Lydia's gd friend (Deng Guang Rong) challenged her ex-husband why wasn't he present to help Joyce with the funeral etc RIGHT ON STAGE AND NATIONAL TV! The whole hall was shocked! Good thing Joyce was calm and brought the unpleasantness and awkwardness back to the theme of the event which was to pay tribute and not to point fingers at whoever's wrongdoing etc. The whole hall clapped to show their support. I guess this is a family affair which should be settled behind closed doors and not on national tv to satisfy nosyparker's curiosity like me (or like us). This ain't Edison's scandalous obscenity but an artiste's demise. Flashes of Lydia and Joyce's past happiness show how great a mother's great love is. What a pity indeed but who can ever question God's timing?
