I need surprises! I'm too smart for norms.

Think about this..

If you had put a-dollar coin into a coin bank everyday since the day you were born, and each time you saved a thousand, you deposit into a savings account earning 0.25% p.a. you would have close to $10,000 by now (assuming you are 25 yrs old). This is aside from all your Ang-Bao money, holiday job savings, and your full time job salaries.
Everyone can achieve their financial objectives sooner than expected.

However, there is always a 'BUT', a 'SALE', a 'BARGAIN'. Materialism is in everyone of us! Kindly just admit it. Do you upgrade your hp, laptop, MP3 player? Do you upgrade from 'Outdoor' to 'Elle' to 'Esprit' to 'Burberry'? We are always prompt in gratifying ourselves.

Everyone will say "What's the point of working so hard if I can't even pamper myself?" Correct! You are not alone. Why don't you ask yourself this qn too - "What's the point of working so hard if at the end of the day you have no financial freedom i.e. you have no cash in your savings account?" You are working hard because you are a slave towards your car, your house, your credit card bills, your hire purchase, your indulgence.

I read a lot of financial articles and related books, they share one common idea. The key to having wealth is through savings, and consequently investments. It's not through the amount of money you earned, as you earn more, you spend more. I am real serious. I am a victim in this circumstance. So my resolution is to not indulge in extravagant spendings and luxuries anymore. I pray that I will have the discipline whatsoever to realize this goal.
